Joel Wanasek - Mix Engineer
Joel is an experienced mixer who has collaborated with artists such as Scott Stapp, Machine Head, Fuel, Miyavi, Chrissy Costanza, Voila, and more. With over 20 years in the industry, he has mixed numerous chart-topping tracks, including a few #1 singles across various charting formats, and achieved billions of streams worldwide.
In addition to his mixing expertise, Joel revolutionized the music education landscape in 2016 by founding URM Academy, now the world's largest online school for Rock and Metal producers. His efforts sparked a global movement, empowering thousands of aspiring audio professionals.
Joel is also recognized for creating award-winning audio software tools at Drumforge, which are widely used by producers in the audio production industry. His successful releases include drum sample packs, guitar impulse response packs, and his signature line of "bus glue" mixing plugins (over 5,000 units sold) in collaboration with Joey Sturgis Tones. Today, thousands of producers worldwide rely on the innovative plugins and sample libraries Joel has developed.
Joe Wohlitz - Mix Assistant / Sound Design Specialist
Joe studied audio production at Full Sail University in Orlando and joined JTW Recording in 2011 as a mixing assistant. Since then, he has mixed thousands of songs alongside Joel as part of their production team, with a focus on tone design and reamping, delivering standout guitar tones.
In 2014, Joe and Joel co-founded the award-winning software company Drumforge with producer Joey Sturgis. Leveraging his expertise in tone design, Joe has released several highly successful guitar tone and impulse packs through Joey Sturgis Tones.
